When I have been feeling trapped and completely overwhelmed it has allowed me to share the negative thoughts I am having and to examine if they are rational or not. Due to being a more emotional and sensitive person I find I need this outside perspective in order to get a better outlook on things. At times I get completely trapped in my negative thoughts and can’t see much else – having a good counsellor has helped me to examine the rationality of these thoughts and find more positive ways of looking at things.
